- Expected Goals Against | The sum of xG values for all unblocked shots faced: shots on goal and missed shots, excluding empty-net shots, penalty shots and shootouts. A cumulative metric of expected yielded goals.
- GSAx
- Goals Saved Above Expected | xGA − goals allowed on those same shots (so penalty-shot goals are not counted). A metric comparing actual goals allowed to expected goals allowed. Positive values indicate above-expected goaltending performance; negative values indicate underperformance. Over larger samples, this may reflect true goaltending talent (or luck).
- SV%Ax
- Save % Above Expected | (GSAx ÷ unblocked shots faced) × 100. Goals saved above expected per 100 unblocked shots, measured on the same shots as xGA. A metric isolating goaltending performance relative to shot quality.
